Dũng bị bắt sau khi lập trang Facebook lừa đảo hơn 3.000 người – Ảnh: AN LONG
Ngày 26-9, thông tin từ Công an tỉnh Long An cho biết đã khởi tố vụ án, khởi tố bị can, bắt tạm giam Hồ Bửu Hoàng Dũng (27 tuổi, ngụ ấp Kỳ Son, xã Loan Mỹ, huyện Tam Bình, tỉnh Vĩnh Long) để điều tra tội lừa đảo chiếm đoạt tài sản.
Theo thông tin ban đầu, từ tháng 8-2022 đến nay, Dũng đã lập một trang Facebook để đăng bán tượng gỗ các loại.
Mỗi tượng gỗ Dũng rao bán từ 1,5 – 3 triệu đồng.
Tuy nhiên, khi người mua hàng chuyển khoản trả tiền thì Dũng cắt đứt mọi liên lạc, chặn cuộc gọi, tin nhắn, tài khoản Facebook của người mua.
Hơn một năm lập trang, Dũng khai nhận đã lừa đảo hơn 3.000 người trên cả nước với số tiền hơn 6 tỉ đồng.
Khám xét nơi ở, công an thu giữ được nhiều thiết bị điện tử mà Dũng sử dụng cho hoạt động lừa đảo chiếm đoạt tài sản, trên 300 triệu đồng tiền mặt, nhiều giấy chứng nhận quyền sử dụng đất và sổ tiết kiệm trị giá hơn 2,5 tỉ đồng.
Hiện vụ việc đang được Công an tỉnh Long An tiếp tục điều tra.
Tại buổi đối thoại giữa chủ tịch UBND tỉnh Cà Mau với thanh niên, Công an tỉnh Cà Mau cho biết trong 9 tháng đầu năm, công an đã tiếp nhận nhiều trường hợp bị lừa đảo qua mạng với số tiền lên đến 9,5 tỉ đồng.
